The COVID-19 pandemic hit commercial and luxury real estate harder than most other RE segments. We saw aid from the Federal Reserve and Congress go toward businesses, workers, municipalities, residential homeowners, and tenants to the tune of more than $4 trillion!

CRE saw little of that. Instead, vacation rentals dried up. New regulations and job losses made collecting rents from tenants a nightmare.

This is particularly true in hard-hit states like New York, California, and Florida.

About Caryn Botknecht

Caryn Botknecht is a real estate agent affiliated with Compass and head of The Caryn Botknecht Group, a boutique investment real estate services firm. Caryn is also an alumna of The University of Florida, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree. She specializes in sourcing, listing, and closing single- and multi-tenant net lease properties for high-level executives and investors. Previously, she worked as a major gift donation advisor through various non-profit organizations. A native of South Florida, she enjoys yoga, exercise, and practicing meditation in her spare time.
